And sometimes it can be down right funny

Things not to do when fishing, casting into tree branches, climbing tree to get back your lure and having branch give way and dropping you into water. Leaning forward to pull lure out of brush from a boat and having the crap scared out of you when an animal jumps out from under bush or a fish splashes water in your face.

Trying to explain to your wife or girl friend how you got wet.
What ever you do don’t put the fish in old newspaper and leave it in the back seat for a few days P. U. Don’t tell your friend that the water is not very deep and he needs to wade out to a certain rock to catch anything. As he disappears from site when he steps into deep water be sure your not laughing so hard you cant run away when he comes back.

Don’t ever stand close (with in 30’) of a fly fisherman or you may lose your hat, glasses or worse get hooked in the arse, just try to explain that one! If fishing from a rubber boat be careful not to hook it and if you do pray for divine help, because your friends may be laughing to hard.

When your launching your boat be sure your brakes work before you see if your truck floats. Make sure your engine is running before you push away from dock into traffic oh and have plenty of gas.
Bring a flare just in case your boat has trouble or worse yet it starts to take on water because your buddy forgot to put back the plug in bottom of boat, or the prop just falls off.

When in a river obey the no wake law especially when passing by smaller boats you don’t want to be ducking bullets. Going fast on a river may seem like fun just be sure to stay in the channel or you may rip out your bottom. Also watch out for others around the bend you don’t want to ram into a police boat.

Be aware of what’s around you, if you see a lot of seagulls diving at bait in the water do not use a top water bait. If your on a boat deep sea fishing and it’s a wood boat watch out for bees nests they can ruin your whole day.

You may think its not your day when you finally hook into a nice bass only to lose it to a Bald Eagle. Or at the end of a no fish day you find your car or truck has a flat tire and the spare is in the garage!

Worse still is the day when you and 3 friends decide to take the boat to a sand spit and enjoy a day drinking and surf fishing. 1st you have forgotten to put the anchor out as you had dragged boat on shore you thought you wouldn’t need it, but you forgot the incoming tide.
2nd everybody decides to go for a swim leaving their pants by their cooler after their swim they cant find their pants and only their underwear is left.

Along about this time a police boat shows up with their boat in tow. How so ever you cant prove the boat is yours because your wallet is gone along with your pants. Well the cops help you search for your pants but its getting dark now, after half an hour they call it quits and bring the guys with their boat in tow back to the town pier.

The pier is lit up like a Christmas tree seems someone brought in a big fish a 750lb Mako shark and the local news is covering it. Well you guessed it he saw the police boat with the three guys in their underwear and the boat in tow and was waiting when they tied up. Their story made the front page!

The moral to this story is never piss off your girl friend or wife or better yet don't tell them about your outing or they may steal your pants Lmao.

Penn Senator Reels Revies

Penn Senator Reels are great for heavier saltwater applications, these powerful, high-performance reels feature a classic design with tough molded side-plates and 2 chrome-plated brass rings with chrome-plated frame posts. Equipped with precision machined stainless steel gears and spool spindles, Penn star drag, a comfortable torpedo handle and quality HT100 drag washers

6/0 114 ratio 2.1:1, 48 oz 50 lb/475 yards

9/0 115L ratio 2.5:1 55 oz 50 lb/675 yards

This Penn Senator series of reels is among the strongest of big-game reels available it’s a tough guy reel no doubt about it. This is the best and longest lasting reel you could ever have you can find more expensive reels just not better.

Some whom have bought this Penn Senator reel are complaining about getting a different handle then the torpedo grip its supposed to have, I say bring it back get another but have them open the box to be sure it has the right one. I called Penn MFG. Company about this they said it was probably just a mistake, someone on the assembly line just put the wrong one on.

Most people that buy this Penn Senator reel use it to go for some pretty hefty fish I read a repot of 1 guy that brought in a 800 pound tiger shark whoa.
This is a great reel the drag can handle anything and everything, this is a very impressive reel.

Penn Senator Reels
have a special reputation among saltwater fishermen. Quite a few record fish have been caught on Penn Senator Reels and anglers who own the reel are quick to claim that a better reel for the money simply does not exist.

Penn GT Series Lever Drag Reels Review

The Penn GT Lever Drag conventional reels have an all graphite body that’s going to make this reel a lot lighter and better for jigging either from a boat or a pier or for what ever type fishing you plan to do.

A popular choice for trollers and live-bait anglers alike due to their incredible toughness. Lever drag allows precise control during the fight, allowing you to boat more fish. Graphite frame, anodized aluminum spool, stainless pinion, manganese-bronze main gear, 4 aircraft-grade sealed stainless ball bearings.
.

From all the reviews I have seen on the Penn GT Lever Drag it sure looks like a winner 5 out of 5 say they have caught some really awesome fish with this series of Penn Reels. I am still looking to see if there’s anything bad reported on them.

I found a few whom don’t think it as good as the 309 howsoever they don’t go into any real detail as to why its not very good, I have both and have had no trouble with either and I am not very gentle with my Penn Reels.

The last time I used my Penn GT Lever Drag was when I was fishing from 4th cliff beach by the North River for stripers and blues. There were people in a boat just offshore to one side of my friends and I. One in the boat caught a blue and tried to kiss it like it was a freshwater bass, it bit the tip of his nose off well it was pretty funny to those on the beach loll.
